Practice (10/10) and Games 10/12 and 10/17...

Team Epic

Good evening, Team Epic. Wanted to submit two quick things for the good of the order.

1) A special thanks to Coach Chrissy for holding it down tomorrow night at practice while I'm in Chicago. She's promised to not make practice too fun for fear of a mutiny. 5:30pm on Field 3.

2) For those who may not have caught my postgame bullhorn blasts, we have our regularly schedule game this coming Saturday (10/12) at 9am and will also be making up our earlier cancellation vs. Team Sita during practice on Thursday (10/17) at 5:30pm. Please make sure your player comes in his/her game jersey.

As always, I'm always just a phone call or text away with any questions or concerns. Thanks to each of you parents and players for making it a great season thus far. Cheers...

Pictures this Saturday! (but only a scrimmage...)
by posted 09/13/2019

Text with Coach Darrin

Good morning, Team Epic. Thanks to everyone who braved the downpour last night and stuck around to allow us a little more work as a team.

A couple quick things:

1) Team pictures are tomorrow morning, Saturday September 14th. We're scheduled to have our photos taken at 8:40am and the photographer has asked that players and parents arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled photo time. As optimistic as he/she may be, let's just commit to having our players dressed and ready for photos at 8:40am sharp!

2) As attached, I was unable to sway the opposing coach to play a mixed scrimmage (as he anticipated only 3 players from his team will be in attendance). I'm sorry. Thus, tomorrow's "game" will have to be an intersquad scrimmage (in full uniform!). The good news is everyone will get maximum playing time.

I look forward to seeing you all bright and early at the Farm Bureau tomorrow morning. FYI, our scrimmage will be on Field 6 (I believe it is in the far back corner, but just look for the yellow jerseys). Until then...

Team Epic is out of the gates!
by posted 09/10/2019

Good evening, Team Epic. Thanks for everyone's contribution towards a successful first game this past Saturday. It seemed like our kids had a lot of fun.

As a newbie to this U7 soccer thing, it also became appararent that games can be readily defined as, "the process by which all concepts and techniques drilled on Thursdays are reversed." :o). Thanks for your patience with me as I continue to work towards sound fundamentals at practices while more or less playing cheerleader on Saturday mornings.

I believe Wyatt's mom (Jill?) will be circulating a "Sign-up Genius" for team snacks on game days. Thanks for signing up for a week or two as you're able so we can distribute the load.

See you all on Thursday evening at the Farm Bureau, Field 3, 5:30pm. As I've said, feel free to reach me with any questions or concerns along the way. Cheers...

Kellner? Worst team name ever!?!

Youth Development Soccer

Good morning, Team. My name is Coach Jesse and it's my privilege to welcome you to Davidsonville Athletic Association's Fall '19 Youth Development Soccer program. I'm thrilled that your child (and family!) have been drafted onto the (pathetically named) "Team Kellner". We'll sort that out for the better come Thursday, even if we have to name ourselves!

Speaking of which, and in case it's not already on your radar, we have our first practice this Thursday, September 5th, 5:30pm at the MD Farm Bureau - Field 3 (3358 Davidsonville Road (Rt. 424), Davidsonville, MD 21035). I know 5:30pm is awful close to the end of the work day so thanks for your committed efforts to arrive at the field in a timely fashion. Also, please be certain that your children arrive with the appropriate equipment (cleats, shinguards, water, etc.).

To set a clear expection for the season and to assure our kids the very best experience of team sports in these formative years, let's together agree that each child will participate in every practice/game unless alerting me otherwise in advance. This will allow me to plan and execute the best possible practices for the team. I'm sure you can imagine how different a practice will be with three participants instead of seven.

In the event that you have any questions along the way, don't hesistate to reach me here, via email at jessedkellner@gmail.com, or via phone/text at 410.693.8500. I'm committed to providing a fun, team-building, and instructional environment for our kids and welcome any input along the way.

Looking forward to meeting your children and families on Thursday and, until then...
