Age Groups

NEW AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR BOYS LACROSSE -- SPRING 2008

As of the spring 2008 lacrosse season, the age cut off for boys lacrosse will be September 1. Some players will be eligable to play a 3rd season in their age group either this spring or next. The below chart was published by Anne Arundel County and does not reflect our Beginner Clinic program.

Scoopers (formally known as Beginner Clinic):  Beginner Clinic is now going to be referenced as Scoopers.  Boys born between 9/1/2000 and 8/31/2002 are eligible to play.  We will consider boys one year younger on an individual basis.  This age group is instructional and fun.  The teams are evenly divided and the teams play games.  They will start a little later than the older age groups to allow for weather.

Clinic (formally known as Advanced Clinic):  This age group plays in the county leagues with games within the county.  The coaches serve as referees.  It is still considered an instructional age group, and the teams are evenly split. The teams will play ten games in their season.  There is a Pinball Tournament at the end of the season for those interested in going.

Pee Wees:  This age group is also instructional and will be evenly divided.  They also play 10 games in the county, with County Referees.  There is a Bilderback Tournament at the end of the season for those interested in going.

Midgets:  This age group is divided by skill level into A, B, or C levels.  The head and assistant coaches determine during tryouts at which level the players participate.  This level plays 10 regular season games and will have playoffs for County Championships.

Juniors:  This age group is also divided by skill level into A, B, or C levels.  The head and assistant coaches determine the level at which the players are assigned.  They also play for County Championships with 10 games in the regular season.

Equipment Required

All players are required by the county to have the following:

Lacrosse stick
Lacrosse gloves *
Arm pads *
Shoulder pads *
Helmet *
Mouth guard with strap to attach to helmet
Cleats
Optional:
Rib pads
Athletic cup (strongly recommended for all age groups from Peewee up)

DAA Boys Lacrosse can supply the above equipment with asterisks.  Equipment is available for Scoopers and first-year Clinic level players only. There will be a $300 security deposit required for all borrowed equipment.
