Information for Parents:

Fall Baseball Age Determination:

The ages for fall are based on the players age for the UPCOMING spring 2020 season.  The purpose of fall baseball is to prepare the player for their spring league.  As a result, many players will participate in a league "age" they have not reached as of this fall, but that will be the case for players from all teams in the leagues so your child is NOT playing against OLDER kids.

Registration costs include a hat.  The player is expected to provide gray pants, a black belt, and black socks.  SMLL will provide a jersey to be returned at season end.  Parents will need to provide a $50 deposit check to receive the jersey.  By doing so, SMLL is saving approximately $30 per registration per player for our fall leagues.

Practices will begin around August 10th.  The season will be an 8 game Sunday schedule beginning the Sunday AFTER Labor Day weekend.  Practices will vary, but 8u and 10u should expect to practice one time a week and on Sundays (until games start) and 12u and 15u should expect to practice twice a week and on Sundays (until games start).   Please note practices will conclude before the season ends since darkness in early October makes practicing after the school/work day impractical.

Team Roster:

South Maryland Little League has at the top of its mission the inclusion of ALL willing participants in spring Little League baseball.  Due to the limited number of teams and the intention of limiting roster sizes to 12 or 13, SMLL may need to wait list players until rosters fill for another team at that age group.

Information concerning roster sizes and assessments will be provided in early August.  We remain committed to providing every willing participant a place to play baseball but can’t predict the future until registration is underway.

South Maryland Little League - is a chartered affiliate of Little League Baseball, Inc. of Williamsport, PA (www.littleleague.org) and has been serving central Anne Arundel County since 1997. We are a nonprofit organization serving 250 youths playing T-Ball through Little League Juniors.  We are community-neutral and focused solely on baseball.  Our players hail from Annapolis, Bowie, Crofton, Crownsville, Davidsonville, Edgewater, Harwood, Mayo, Riva, South River, and elsewhere. We provide a quality youth baseball program that focuses on teaching the skills of America's Pastime and also helps the young people of our communities learn to work together as a team, develop individual leadership skills and increase their self- confidence.  We have developed players who have gone on to play high school, collegiate, and even professional baseball.

We are staffed entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to creating the best quality program possible for the children, and we need your help to continue this tradition. All funds are generated through fees, fundraisers, business and community support like your own.

Our coaches and umpires attend clinics in the fall and winter for organization and team management, coaching, rules and umpiring.  The SMLL community enjoys the social side of our league at opening day held at Bottner field, a field exclusively dedicated to Little League.
