DAA County Soccer

The DAA soccer program promotes fair play, good sportsmanship, skills and fun for players ages 8 through 13. Our boys and girls teams are registered in the Anne Arundel Youth Soccer League (AAYSL) for both spring and fall soccer seasons. The AAYSL is a county-sponsored recreational league that supports divisions for different team skill levels.

To play county soccer in 2008, your child must be 8 years old by 9/6/2008. Your son or daughter is required to wear soccer cleats, shin guards and a mouthguard if he or she wears an orthodontic appliance. A DAA county soccer uniform is also required and costs $50.00, which includes a jersey with last name, shorts, and soccer socks. Uniforms must be ordered at the time of registration.

Teams are grouped by age levels, starting at Under 8 for spring and Under 9 for fall. In general, DAA’s oldest team for boys or girls is Under 14. U18 teams can be formed if there is enough interest.  The age group for your child is based on his or her birthday as of August 1 of that year (except for beginning players that must be 8 by the first Saturday after Labor Day of that year). Children are allowed to “play up” in an older age group, but may not play in a younger age group. The DAA soccer program does its best to group players in their appropriate age group, but based on the number of registrations, roster maximums and skill levels, some players may be grouped differently as necessary.

Spring soccer is played on Sunday afternoons at various locations throughout the county. There are generally few, if any, practices for spring soccer due to lack of available practice fields. The season begins mid-March and runs for 9 weeks. The season may be extended due to weather or other issues. There are usually 1-3 divisions per age group. Age groups are usually combined to make spring teams.

Fall soccer is played on Saturday afternoons at various locations throughout the county. There are 2 practices per week, which begin in late August. Skills evaluations will begin the second week of August and will be conducted per age group.  The season begins the Friday after Labor Day and runs for 9 weeks. There will be at least one Sunday game, sometimes more to ensure a 10 game season.  The season may be extended due to weather or other issues. There are usually 3-7 divisions per age group.

It is important for you to register your child in a timely manner. The county requires that rosters are submitted and teams placed in divisions at least one month prior to the start of the season. Players who do not register by the stated registration deadline will be subject to a late fee. Registration will be closed once rosters are full.

U.K Petite Soccer

A fun introduction to the world of soccer for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. The curriculum is based on a "Games Based" approach to teaching soccer within a fun learning maximum activity environment. Activities are fantasy-based involving role playing, and are designed to maximize the number of touches each player has on the ball…with their feet! Each child receives tuition in a small group setting from one of U.K. Elite Soccer’s professional British coaches.... parents are welcome to stay and join in the fun!

Bring a drink, shin guards and a smile!

U.K Elite STEPS2Success Soccer

UK Elite Soccer’s ‘STEPS2Success’ program is a consistent path to improvement for 5 - 14 year old children.

Each STEP is designed with the age, experience and ability of the player in mind. This program gives every player the chance to fully realize their potential. As the ‘STEPS’ increase the skills and techniques learnt become more complex, the demands placed on the player become higher, and the intensity of the sessions increase. Each session ends with a mini-scrimmage.

Shin guards are mandatory. Bring water and be ready to play!
